With more than 126 years combined experience in the motor industry between them, you can be sure that the team at One Stop Mechanical Servicing have the skills and expertise to repair your vehicle.
Dave, the owner operator of One Stop Mechanical Servicing, has been in the motor industry for 46 years. He chose to train as a mechanic as he liked the idea of being able to control something mechanical. His four decades of experience has equipped him with an in-depth knowledge of the internal combustion engine and the idiosyncrasies of the automobile. Dave relies on his keen ear for the abnormal when it comes to diagnosing a problem and takes a logical approach to finding a remedy. One of the most enjoyable elements of his job is meeting people, fixing their cars to their satisfaction and then seeing those clients return. Dave would most like to have both a classic Ford and an Aston Martin sitting in his home garage, ready for weekend (or longer) road trips.
Grant has over 40 years experience in the motor industry and has been at One Stop Mechanical for 18 of those years. In that time, he has built up considerable experience in auto repair; he can quickly and accurately diagnose a car’s problems to decide what repairs are required. For Grant, job satisfaction is all about getting those repairs done right, but as One Stop’s WOF specialist, he’s also responsible for ensuring vehicles are roadworthy. A car racing enthusiast, Grant would love to visit Belgium to see the famous 24-hour Spa endurance race, and Indianapolis in the USA, to watch the legendary Indy 500.
Jim may be the most recent addition to the One Stop Mechanical Servicing team, but he still has 40 years’ experience in the motor industry. This includes experience in remanufacturing as well as automotive design and development at the point of manufacture. With such a long history in the industry, Jim can offer a unique insight into both older and newer automotive technologies. However, he is also aware that listening, asking relevant questions and paying close attention to the repair job in hand is essential in ensuring customer satisfaction. Jim likes sharing in the passion that the customers have for their cars and appreciates the close knit team environment at One Stop. His dream is to race a red Ducati 848/13 sports motor bike around the famous Monza Italian Grand Prix circuit.
Ruth may not get her hands dirty in the workshop at One Stop Mechanical Servicing, but she doesn’t feel out of place there as she’s been involved with the motor industry for most of her adult life. It’s her job to keep the office ticking over as smoothly as the sound of a well-tuned Maserati, which is her dream car. Her connection with the motorsport world has given her a passion for the thrill and the sound of speed. While Ruth does enjoy driving, she says one of the best things about working in Ellerslie is the opportunity to use the train too.
